Let Them Eat Cake!

The other night, my younger daughter and I once again attended the Let Them Eat Cake! fundraiser for City of Hope, which both treats and researches cancer. The event was held in center city Philadelphia, and the cakes were fabulous! I've chosen a few favorites to show here, I will have to put up a few more in a future post, because they were just stunning! The detail and workmanship that is put into each one is truly amazing... This one was based on A Midsummer's Night Dream...And how cute is this?
I didn't even notice the bamboo in his little mouth till I was looking at the pictures to post here...
It's those little details that make these works of art so special...
I just love the color scheme on this one- reminds me of Good n Plenty candy- remember that?? And the design is so whimsical and fun. The cake was delicious too- chocolate with fudgy chocolate frosting between the layers...
Did I mention that we got to sample the cake too??? AND they give you boxes so you can bring some home?????!!!!! Diet, what diet?? Not this week I tell ya....
I wish you could see them in person because the photos just don't do them justice. We went to this event last year, too. If you want to see photos from last year's gorgeous cakes, click here and here and here.
Well I think I need to go run some laps or something.... have a great weekend!

  1. What beautiful cakes! I love watching this show on the Food channel where they have cake competitions. Some of the cakes they make are spectacular! You are so lucky to be able to go to that event and to get to eat cake, too!
    Have a Blessed Day,
