10 Things About Me...

I am a pretty private person- I keep a lot inside, and open up to very, very few people (like, 2). Most of the time, I am a fortress. But occasionally there are those times that I let way too much slip out- and terrify myself. One of the things I am trying to do is be a more open person. So in the next few weeks, I will be revealing a little more of myself to my readers- some of it will be light and silly, and some deeper (this will be difficult for me- so please be kind! I know you will be.)
This week, we will be keeping it light and silly. Here are 10 things you may or may not know about me (in no particular order):
1. My favorite color is red. I also like variations on red like pink, coral, and sometimes orange.

2. I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate. Love to eat it, but hate that I can’t seem to eat just one.

3. I married my college sweetheart and my first & only love 21 ½ years ago at the age of 23. So now you also know how old I am (that’s a freebie).

4. When I was 10 my favorite show was “Quincy” starring Jack Klugman, and I wanted to be a medical examiner when I grew up.

5. When I was 13 my favorite movie was “Indiana Jones” and I wanted to be an archeologist when I grew up.

6. My favorite thing to do on a Friday night is to order Chinese takeout or a pizza and spend the whole night on the sofa watching movies with my family. (I don’t mind doing that on a Saturday or Sunday night either.)

7. I sing on the worship team at my church every Sunday. After 3 years of doing this, I can finally sing solos without feeling like I am going to pass out from nerves.

8. I have 2 daughters, ages 16 and 20, whom I adore. I can’t believe what beautiful, talented, smart, funny girls they are, and how blessed I am to have them.

9. I often wish I’d had just one more girl. 3 daughters would be extra nice.

10. I don’t like coffee. I wish I did, because I feel like I’m missing out on the whole “Starbucks Experience”. Tea just doesn’t seem the same, and I feel like there’s a big “coffee club” that I’m not a member of…

So those are a handful of things about me, maybe more than you ever wanted to know- ha ha! Is there anything you’d like to know about me or what I do? Leave your question in the comments, or just send me an email, and maybe (if the answer won’t embarrass me too much) I will answer it in a post someday.

  1. This was fun.

I know what you mean about the "coffee thing". I am a "social drinker" and occasionally drink a cup just to fit in. Coffee is just not my favorite drink but with enough sugar and cream....

  2. What a very sweet post Jacquelynne! I'd love to know how you started to paint. Did you learn in school? Did you go to college for art??

  3. I can't drink coffee because it makes me crazy - You are not the only one that doesn't drink it - no worries :)

  4. I love that you are confronting your fears and sharing more about yourself. I know how scary that can be. Sometimes I'm intimidated by tiny things like leaving comments! Here's my question: I know that you are currently remodeling your kitchen...is this the first big project you've done in your home? I always think it's fun to see where people live and work. Have a great week!

  5. You are just too cute for words dear friend~♥

When we go to Starbucks my friends that don't drink coffee just get a fruit drink, a cocoa or a apple cider. Noelle always gets milk. :)

I'd love to see you sing on the worship team.

    Love,
    Me

  6. I am sorry but I must disagree with #3 - you are only about 34 years old right now, so that means we got married when you were 13...

I do agree with you on #6.
    Love you,
    Hubby

  8. I enjoyed this post and look forward to learning more about you! How sweet that someone dear to you thinks you are only 34. I mean that is really sweet and he agrees with you on take-out and movies with the family. Again, how sweet. We have some things in common.......I wish I did not like chocolate because I, too, cannot eat just one Hershey's kiss, etc. My favorite color is pink but not hot pink but I love a deep red rose pink. :-) The coffee thing.......I have finally taken a bit of a liking to coffee and now that I can enjoy a cup or two, I find it doesn't agree with me. Oh, well, a cup of tea is always good. :-)

  9. It was fun to read about you and it is great that you are willing to share. I have been a coffee drinker for the past 18 plus years. Before that I drank all kinds of tea. You really aren't missing much, coffee seems to be much more addicting and lack of coffee can give you a headache once you are addicted. Your kitchen project is exciting, I will look forward to seeing the progress.

  10. I never knew that you didn't drink coffee. . .!
. . . & see - I'm the same way about tea, & fell like I'm missing out when it comes to 'tea'. Well, there you have it - we balance each other out. . . :o)
Fun finding out these little 'tidbits'!
    xo, Bren
