It's been a busy couple of days, getting ready for the wedding. A date has been set for June 8, 2012. We have a venue for the reception- it is the renovated carriage house of a historic mansion with beautiful gardens. I think it's going to be lovely:
Now we are looking for a church. Ideally, it will be close to the reception place, since the wedding will be on a Friday evening, and we don't want guests stuck in city traffic. A few of the options we are looking at:
So many details! What I am really looking forward to is the dress shopping! Daughter actually tried on my wedding dress the other day. It has been sealed up in a box since 1989. She doesn't want to wear it (too 1980's for her!), but maybe she will use a bit of the lace or trim
You could incorporate some bits of your wedding gown in a ring-bearer's pillow and maybe a flower girl basket. Of course, that's assuming she has either and also, that you want to cut up your dress. My mother had a yard of the lace left-over from my dress which she made in 1968. I kept it and when our daughter got married, I used it in the dress I made for her. :-) They are both so pretty and no girls in the family to pass them on to. :-( Have fun with all the planning that will go into this event. It will be fun and there will be bumps but it will still be a joy-filled journey!
