Henry Glass Jolly Holiday Party Blog Hop- Day 2!!

It is my day for the Henry Glass Jolly Holiday Party Blog Hop! Remember to stop by each of the designers' blogs for the day, get their secret word, and then at the end of the blog hop visit the Henry Glass Blog and enter for your chance to win a GIANT prize pack! My contribution to the prize pack will be a fabric bundle from my Joy,Love,Peace,Noel fabric collection, and 2 holiday quilt patterns:

I will also be doing my own giveaway, read down to the bottom of this post to see how to enter....

Here is my free project for the Blog Hop- a Jolly Holiday Santa Gift Sack. It is easy to put together, and I think it is a cute alternative to paper gift bags. Who wouldn't want to get their gift to come in this little bag?? It's like two gifts in one...

Click here to download the PDF for the free project sheet.

For the blog hop this year, we are doing a little Q & A session:
What is your favorite holiday food? Christmas cookies! Every kind!

Does your family have a favorite holiday tradition? We always go out to a tree farm where there is a tractor ride out to the field. You pick your tree, they cut it down for you, then load it back onto the tractor and you ride back to the barn to pay for it. While you are waiting, there are free cookies and hot cocoa. It is especially fun and pretty when there is snow on the ground. It is something I really look forward to every year.

What's your favorite holiday movie? Elf ("Buddy the Elf- What's your favorite color??). We watch it every Thanksgiving night to kick off the Christmas season! Once we watch Elf, it's really Christmas time for us. I also love While You Were Sleeping, a cute romantic comedy. And then there's Year Without a Santa Claus (not a movie, I know, but still who can resist the Heat Miser and Snow Miser???)

What's your favorite holiday song? Oh Holy Night. I even did a fabric line by that name.I love Christmas music- I have a collection of about 40 or so Christmas CD's.

Do you make many holiday presents? I make lots of cookies for gifts- dozens and dozens of cookies. I give them to all of the neighbors, our friends at church, etc. Everyone has now come to expect them every year!

Would you prefer a large fully decorated tree or one like Charlie Brown's tree? I am definitely a "more is more" kind of girl- so we get the biggest tree we can fit through the door and decorate it with ornaments that we've had for years. Every year as we trim the tree, it is fun to remember back on all of the other Christmases when we decorated the tree. And my husband takes a photo every year, so we can see how much our girls have grown (they are now 21 and 16).

Do you like a big family gathering at the holidays or do you prefer a small dinner followed by hot chocolate by the fire? Both- first we go our parents and spend the afternoon with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and we have a big Christmas dinner. Then our family comes home in the early evening and we relax by the fire and watch a Christmas movie.

And now,  my secret word for the Henry Glass giant prize pack giveaway  is......  Christmas Pudding!

Make sure you stop by the LizzieB girls' blog today too!

We have a birthday cake for him so that I can remind the kids why we get to open presents. I love Christmas and it warms my soul!

  127. My favorite part of the holiday season is making all my candies or cookies to send with hubby to work. It makes him the king of the day when he shows up with my goodies and I know it makes him proud and feel good. I really hope to do it this year since the past couple years I haven't been able to because of health reasons.

Other than that decorating our house is my most favorite thing. I LOVE the way it just lifts our spirits to have all the holiday decorations out with the pretty lights etc. It is such a nice change from the normal look in the house.

Listening to all the beautiful Christmas music is at the top of my list as well.

  131. My favorite part of the holidays is the time I get to spend laughing, hugging, and just being silly with my 3 daughters and my husband. Our 2 daughters in college come home and we are all here together, enjoying each other. We love to watch Elf, Holiday Inn, While you Were Sleeping (my favorite movie of all time), The Santa Clause, and It's a Wonderful Life. We all pile on the sectional and snuggle under blankets while we watch the movies. We usually watch one a night after everyone is out of school for the semester. Sweet times! :-)
