As I write this, here on the east coast of the United States we are waiting for Hurricane Sandy, or as it has been dubbed by the local weather people,
"Frankenstorm," to arrive. We have plenty of water, batteries for the flashlights, canned food... The electric company called yesterday to tell us to expect widespread outages (not a good sign), and Saturday we got the call that daughter's school has been cancelled for both today and tomorrow. They are calling for 80 mile per hour sustained winds and storm surges of 6 feet and more. Many areas are under mandatory evacuation. Please pray with us that everyone stays safe and that there are no serious injuries or fatalities from this storm.
In the meantime, I am working on the November Newsletter. It's a welcome diversion from all of the weather reports. If all goes as planned (we'll see....), the newsletter will be arriving in subscribers' in-boxes on Thursday, November 1. And it's FREE....

And if you are on the east coast, stay dry and safe :)
I will be thinking about you and hope you stay safe and don't lose power for too long. We are all set and the generator is all ready, so it is a wait and see. Good day to relax and work on projects.

I hope everybody will be okay with this storm .... even here in the Netherlands its all over the news.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family. I can't wait for the newsletter!
ReplyDeleteWe hope that the storm missed your area. If not, I hope our electric repairmen (who left here on Sunday) are up there fixing any downed electric lines in your area.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get that cute pumpkin pattern done. It will make a cute mini quilt wall hanging.
Hope all is well with you and your family. My son is in Boston and I talked to him just before the storm hit yesterday and haven't heard since. But with widespread electrical outages I am assuming it could be awhile.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you came through the storm with no trouble.
ReplyDeleteThe pears look unbelievable!! I may have to try this.
